Higher Level Teacher Assistant (HLTA) - English
Are you passionate about education and eager to make a significant impact on students' lives? Join our dynamic secondary school as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). In this exciting role, you'll work alongside teachers in classrooms to support and nurture students, providing targeted small group interventions that boost their learning. You'll take the lead in delivering specific English interventions to a range of students in KS3 and KS4, helping students to excel in language and literacy. Additionally, you'll be responsible for writing detailed one plans and student passports, tailoring educational strategies to meet individual needs. Communication with parents is key, and you'll play a vital role in building strong relationships to ensure the best outcomes for our students.
The successful candidates will need to have GCSE qualification grade C/level 5 or above, or equivalent, in English and Maths. Additionally, the successful candidate will hold the HLTA/L4 Teaching Assistant qualification or be willing to achieve it within 12 months of appointment.
The pay band for the role is Scale 5 (scp 9 to 12), which is £26,409 to £27,711
The hours of work for the role will be 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday and this will be required term time, plus five staff training days (39 weeks in total), working between the hours of 08.55 am to 15.30 pm, with one afternoon working to 16.00 pm.
The actual salary for the role (inclusive of holiday pay) is £17,133.45 to £17,978.15 (under 5 years’ service) or £17,363.43 to £18,219.47 (over 5 years’ service).
